يستعرض هذا البحث سيرة لسان الدين بن الخطيب أحد أعلام الفكر والأدب والسياسة في الأندلس خلال القرن الثامن الهجري، مع التركيز على رحلاته إلى المغرب كما وثقها في كتابه "خطرة الطيف: رحلات في المغرب والأندلس."
ينطلق البحث من عرض نشأة ابن الخطيب في بيئة علمية راقية، حيث تميز بثقافة موسوعية وتنوع في الأحمر، مما بني التأليف بين التاريخ والأدب، والطب والفلسفة. وقد شغل مناصب سياسية بارزة في بلاط جعله عرضة للمؤامرات والنفي، وصولاً إلى اغتياله في سجن بمدينة فاس.
شكلت رحلته إلى المغرب منعطفا هاما في حياته، دوّن خلالها ملاحظاته الدقيقة عن الجغرافيا، والمدن، والعمران والمجتمع المغربي. وعبّر عن رؤيته لمظاهر الحضارة المغربية من خلال مقارنات ضمنية مع الواقع الأندلسي، مظهرًا إعجابه بالنظام السياسي والاجتماعي السائد هناك. كما تجلت في كتابه رؤية إثنوغرافية وصف من خلالها العادات واللباس واللهجات المحلية.

This research explores the biography of Lisan al-Din Ibn al-Khatib, one of the prominent figures in thought, literature, and politics in al-Andalus during the 8th century AH (14th century CE), with a focus on his journeys to Morocco as documented in his book "Khatrat al-Taif: Travels in Morocco and al-Andalus."
The study begins by examining Ibn al-Khatib's upbringing in a refined intellectual environment, where he developed an encyclopedic knowledge and wrote in diverse fields including history,
literature, medicine, and philosophy. He held high political positions in the court of the Nasrid dynasty, which made him a target of conspiracies and led to his exile and eventual assassination in a prison in the city of Fez.
His journey to Morocco marked a significant turning point in his life, during which he recorded
meticulous observations about the geography, cities, architecture, and Moroccan society. He
expressed his views on the manifestations of Moroccan civilization through implicit comparisons
with Andalusian reality, showing admiration for the political and social systems prevalent there. His
book also reflects an ethnographic perspective, describing local customs, clothing, and dialects.
This journey reveals the multidimensional personality of Ibn al-Khatib-as a writer, politician,
